Carbon Footprint and Sustainability Data

The primary field for CO₂ equivalent emissions on ingredients is co2eq_cradle_to_gate_kg. Use this field when creating or editing ingredients via the API, and when reading carbon footprint data from Get Ingredient Details, Create Ingredient, or Edit Ingredient.

Cradle-to-gate vs farm-to-farmgate

• co2eq_cradle_to_gate_kg – CO₂ equivalent (kg) from raw materials to factory gate (cradle-to-gate). This is the value Apicbase uses for emissions reporting, product carbon footprint, and totals. Use this for the ingredient's main carbon footprint value.

• co2eq_farm_to_farmgate_kg – CO₂ equivalent (kg) from farm to farm gate only. This is a narrower scope (agricultural stage only). Optional; for reporting and calculations use co2eq_cradle_to_gate_kg.
